For whitening of dark, dull, or stained teeth, bleaching just might be the answer. Bleaching is performed by taking a mold of your teeth and making a model of them. On this model, a soft, thin, clear tray is fabricated. This tray is lined with a bleaching gel and placed directly over the teeth in the mouth. This bleach filled tray can be worn for one or two hours during the day or worn at night while you sleep. Results will be seen daily. To attain maximum results, most patients must wear the bleaching tray for 1-2 weeks. The timing of these results, however, can vary dependant upon the strengths of the bleaching gels which are available.

Night White Excell 2 |
Q. What is tooth whitening?
A. Tooth whitening is a bleaching process that lightens discolorations and removes stains from the enamel and dentin of the teeth. Nite White uses a mild solution retained in a custom filled appliance that is worn over your teeth while you sleep or during the day.
Q. Why can only a dentist get my teeth their whitest?
A. You can only get Nite White from your dentist. Prior to beginning treatment, your dentist will examine you to determine whether you have any untreated cavities, tooth decay, or unhealthy teeth. Then, a custom-fitted tray is made by taking an impression of your teeth, which gives you a personalized tray and allows you to achieve optimum results.
Q. What causes tooth discoloration?
A. There are many causes. The most common include aging, consumption of staining substances (coffee, teas, colas, tobacco), trauma, tetracycline (antibiotic) staining, excessive fluoride, and nerve degeneration.
Q. Who may benefit from tooth whitening?
A. Almost anyone. However there are some cases where the treatment may not be effective. A dentist will determine a viable candidate for the process through a thorough oral examination and diagnosis. Tooth-lightening is ideal for patients who have healthy, unrestored teeth and would like to have a whiter, brighter smile.
Q. Can I bleach while I'm pregnant or lactating?
A. To date, there has been no testing done on the effects of using a professional tooth-whitening system while pregnant or lactating. Therefore, we do not recommend that you use Nite White or Day White if you are pregnant or lactating.
Q. Why aren't my teeth whitening evenly?
A. Sometimes the biting edges and the sides of the teeth whiten more quickly than the rest of the teeth. This occurs because your enamel is thinner in these areas and responds faster to the whitening process. As you continue to use Nite White or Day White, the rest of your teeth will catch up and the color will even out.
Q. Is the process safe?
A. Yes! research and clinical studies indicate that whitening teeth with carbamide peroxide and/or hydrogen peroxide under the supervision of a dentist is safe for teeth and gums. In fact, many dentists consider this whitening process the safest cosmetic procedure available today.
Composite veneers provide an economical and fast way to attain a stunning smile. Most often, six to ten teeth are covered with a highly polishable dental acrylic that can be sculpted to provide an illusion of symmetry. Teeth can be lightened, spaces closed and shapes altered to bring about pleasing results quickly. Application of the dental composite (as it's called) is usually preceded by modest alterations in actual tooth shape and size so that the final result provides for teeth that are natural in appearance.

Porcelain laminates veneers take the veneering process one step beyond by using laboratory fabricated shells or "laminates" to resurface the outer tooth. While tooth preparation is very much like that done with composite veneers, an impression of the reshaped teeth is made so that a dental lab can fabricate an attractive set of veneers. While the laboratory is preparing them, a temporary veneer is applied to all teeth being treated. Again, shape, color and arrangement can be altered to provide an entirely new smile that will be sure to light up a room.

When simply not enough sound tooth remains to employ veneering techniques, the tried and true crown or "cap" is relied upon for added strength and support. The good news is that modern materials allow for all-ceramic crowns that have managed to eliminate the unsightly dark lines often seen at the base of crowns. Such lines were most often the result of "metal margins" that are no longer masked by the gum tissue due in part to gum recession. What's more, the newer aesthetic crowns are often bonded onto the existing tooth much the same way that veneers are, thus significantly reducing the chance for future loosening of the crown.

Ever Wonder how you'd look with a smile make over? Through the wonders of digital imaging we can now offer you a preview of just how good you might look after a course of cosmetic dental improvements. It won't cost much and it won't hurt a bit. In fact, if you elect to have a smile make over, the simulation is free. The process is simple. One of our doctors will take your picture, discuss what your goals are and quickly mail you a smile simulation to help you make your decision.
Unlike some methods currently available, our simulations are based upon your existing tooth and gum architecture. This method, as opposed to those that import someone else's smile superimposed upon your own, allows us to more closely match the finished case to what was viewed during the simulation phase.
Keep in mind that there is no pressure what-so-ever. We realize that smile makeovers are elective and will only proceed when you are ready, willing and able. Smile simulation does not obligate treatment. It's merely a peek at the possibilities.
If this sounds exciting to you, call 1-866-596-9966 and ask for a "smile simulation".
